With rumours of his earlier years spent dancing and singing in Johnny Young, to smashing Lleyton Hewitt in junior tennis, to flinging nunchucks in Bruce Lee’s Los Angeles dojo, or crying on national television in Australian Idol, to studying astrophysics and interrogating Neil deGrasse Tyson about his days as a stripper, or even being a Zoolander, one thing’s for certain… Don is the founder and director of Mitchell Actors Australia.

After graduating from NIDA in 2007, you may have been lucky enough not to have seen Don in productions like The Informant, All Saints, Home & Away, Crownies, Terra Nova or Packed to the Rafters. Shortly after realising his talents lay behind the camera and not in front of it, Don began teaching actors at both NIDA and at Dean Carey’s Actors Centre Australia. When he moved back home, he did the same at the Adelaide College of the Arts and under the wing of the dynamic duo, Angela and Lou Heesom at Heesom Casting. 

Having taught so many incredible actors over the years, it was only a matter of time before Don became an acting agent…  and so, in 2021, Mitchell Actors Australia was born representing an amazing team of Adelaide’s finest actors.
